Overview
The California Department of Technology (CDT) will be implementing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for ServiceNow, effective 10/01/2026. This enhanced security measure aligns with cybersecurity best practices and complies with State Administrative Manual (SAM) requirements.
Next Steps
As of 10/01/2026, when users log in to the ServiceNow portal using their established credentials, they will prompted to enter a 6-digit code that will be sent to their registered e-mail address. No prior setup will be needed. This verification will be required every time users log in to the ServiceNow portal.
